Urban Reheat:
Move From Stillness
Edition Two
Still Room
Kattendijkdok Oostkaai 2
Antwerp, Belgium
Saturday April 26 - 9.30AM to 11.15AM
Transform the way you navigate life's obstacles and unveil your behavioural creativity by immersing into stillness.
Through a dynamic exploration of stillness situations, movement sequences and non-verbal partnering games, you'll learn to lighten habitual restless energy and physical tension.
Societal conditioning and our personal history impose pressure and limits on our physical and mental agility.
We'll explore how stressors affect our perception, physical reactions and our ability to take creative action, empowering you with adaptive tools to trust internal stillness and find clarity.
Before moving, abide in stillness
Whether you're:
✺ Struggling to slow down and experience your body as a home
✺ Feeling disconnected from your intuition and own boundaries
✺ Battling re-ocurring tensions
✺ Craving play and novel exploration in work, relationships, life
This workshop is an invitation to move into a world of latent possibilities.
Immerse yourself in the realm of stillness that is always there in the background behind our everyday activity, habits and thought.
Join a small group (max. 6 participants) in this 105-minute explorative physical space in the beautiful architecture of Still Room.
You'll practice individually, engage in observational exercises and challenge your behavioural creativity through gently partnering with others.
What Participants Say
In Urban Reheat you will experience
-
Rhythmic movements designed to open your joints, improve physical interconnection and heighten awareness of your psycho-physiological state.
-
Gain a deeper understanding of where you are storing frictions in yourself and in your relations with others - empowering you to make the necessary corrections in your lifestyle.
-
Play is your brain’s favourite way of learning. Non-linear games help you to humorously reshape your own habits while on the move. You’ll develop confidence in your ability to adapt, see new options and thrive when meeting obstacles.
-
Get nearer to your intuition and learn to trust what your body tells you to take bold steps towards living in alignment with your integrity and imagination.
This Urban Reheat will be hosted at Still Room designed by cork artisan Cedric Etienne.
In a maritime heritage building in Antwerp you’ll find in Still Room an embodiment of a sacred space for the modern human.
Cedric studied the architectural patterns of over 100 sacred spaces all around the world going from monasteries, churches, chapels, and contemplative architecture.
As an outro to the workshop Cedric will facilitate a sitting meditation and explain how Still Room became a local expression of his worldwide quest.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Experience with the material we use is not required. The only requirement to join a workshop is to be open to explore.
We’ve had participants from 18 to 73 years old at our workshops.
The real question is not about experience but: are you open to play with trying new ways of thinking and moving? Yes? Then this is for you! -
Yes! Our philosophy is to never stop moving, even when there’s an injury.
Important is ofcourse that you participate within YOUR current boundaries.
We’ve had past participants who were injured or rehabbing and were looking for ways to get back in shape again.
In case there’s a specific question about injury beforehand or during the Reheat, don’t hold back in reaching out to Olivier and Natalia. -
I noticed that after Reheats weekends with accommodation immersed in beautiful nature that there's a drop back to daily life after workshops.
It's often harder for many practitioners to 'recreate' what was felt in a special place when back home.
Urban Reheat is an intention to practice in the city together and emphasizing that practice is everywhere, all the time and the aim is not to make practice dependent on a special time and place.
Compare the weekends in Autumn (in the forest) and Spring (by the beach) as going to the mountain.
Urban Reheat is about internally remembering the mountain while in the city - finding stillness in the restlessness of city life.
