Do we understand what we mean when we say or are told that we are moving well?
Do we know how it feels in our own body?
What is our personal experience of moving well - beyond methods, attaining fixed forms or judgment from outsiders?
Is moving well testable?
We believe that an element within moving well is doing what you intend to do and not being disturbed by small random forces - and that your development can even benefit from these disturbances!
The problem is that such an environment is hard to simulate in isolation. It requires feedback from another attentive human and it is impossible to work yourself through in automatic mode.
In this session my practice partner Mairtin and I will present different body to body situations that we have been researching in a particular way in order to deepen the learning process within physical exploration.
Throughout these situations one person will be practicing a certain suggested posture or motion inspired by Fighting Monkey Practice and the other will serve as the intelligent disturbance providing a constant influx of conflicts within the execution in order to awaken the mover’s adaptability - or expose sleep - within the patterns of whole-body coordinating.
We meet at EA Facility on Saturday January 12 at 10:30AM.
Location address: Griffinstraat 11, 2170 Merksem
